Showcasing North Luzon: Festivals of the North 2014

Main roads of the city of Dagupan were again closed for the much-awaited Festivals of the North, a streetdance competition showcasing the different festivals being held in North Luzon. The event wasn’t held for the last two years, and for this year, the organizers promised better and grander performances.

This year’s Festivals of the North, a highlight of the celebration of the annual Bangus Festival, has a total of 19 contingents from different provinces of Luzon (in order of their mobile performances): La Virgin Milagrosa Festival (Badoc, Ilocos Norte), Pindangan Festival (San Fernando City, La Union), Tobacco Festival (Candon City, Ilocos Sur), Abrenian Kawayan Festival (Bangued, Abra), Basi Festival (Naguillan, La Union), Ani Festival (Dingras, Ilocos Norte), Kannawidan Ylocos Festival (Caoayan, Ilocos Sur).

Fiesta Republika ng Bulakan (Guiguinto, Bulacan) and Panagbenga Festival (Baguio City, Benguet).

The performances of the different contingents added intensity to the summer heat in the city. The winners for this year’s Festival of the North are as follows:
