5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition

SM Mall of Asia will again be mobbed by spectators every Saturday for the 5th Philippine International Pyromusical Competitions. Participants for this year’s competition are Australia, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Japan, China, Germany, Finland, Canada and United States, who will battle out on a spectacular showdown of lights and sounds for six consecutive Saturdays from February 15 to March 22.

FEBRUARY 15: Philippines (Opening Exhibition) and Australia

First installment of the competition was opened by an exhibition from the Philippines’ very own Platinum Fireworks who showcased a post-Valentine show entitled “Love is in the Air.” The opening display was then followed by the first competitor, the Howard and Sons Fireworks of Australia with the theme “Billabong Dreaming,” a mythical day-to-day journey of an Australian Billabong.

MARCH 8: People’s Republic of China and Germany

Scheduled for the fourth installment of the series of competition were the Liuyang New Year Fireworks Manufacturing Co. Ltd. of China and Vulcan Europe of Germany. China’s contingent showed another great performance that started slow and progressed into having the songs like My Number One and Fire that set bursting colors into the skies of Manila Bay. Meanwhile, Germany’s Vulcan Europe utilized songs from the Glee series to synchronize with their firework show.
