Aliwan Fiesta was again held to showcase and promote the different festivals around the country. Known as Philippine’s festival of festivals, events this year include the Reyna ng Aliwan and the most anticipated Grand Street Dance and Float parade. The grand street parade happened last April 13 starting at the Quirino Grandstand all the way to the Aliw Theater in Pasay. The different street dancers showed their moves and choreography added by the very colorful props and costumes.

My personal choices for the street dancing competition were Dinagyang Festival, Kalivungan Festival, and Pasaka Festival. In terms of the floats, the grandest I can consider is the futuristic concept of the Sinulog Float with a moving crane in front carrying the Sto. Niño. However, I am not a member of the panel of judges. Here’s the complete list of winners.
