The hanging gardens restaurant with interior inspired by Ka Lui restaurant in Puerto Princesa, adds to the tropical theme of the gardens. As per the Operations Manager, they are now on the process of finalizing the concept of offering organic food in the restaurant with them producing the organic food to be served.

We also enjoyed night swimming in the main attraction of the gardens which is the infinity pool overlooking the Metro Manila skyline before trying out their full body massage: a combination of signature, Swedish and Thai massages, which is a great way to end the day.

Dipping in the infinity pool during the day will make you appreciate nature on a luxurious way having a vast view of the lush hills of Rizal and some parts of Metro Manila and Laguna de Bay. We enjoyed swimming in the pool before having our foot spa at Buddha Lounge. The lounge is located just upstairs of the infinity pool.

The hanging gardens impress a very tropical ambiance having indigenous and native materials and furniture from Palawan, Pampanga, and Rizal.

VERDE RESTAURANTE

Meet Madonna, the welcome greeter of Verde Restaurante before trying out the different food being offered. We tried the famous suman (sticky rice rolls) and cashew nuts of Rizal for snacks. The suman was perfect with their version of chocolate dip with the right amount of sweetness for my taste buds.

During dinner, we stayed at the hanging gardens restaurant with the food coming from Verde. Food served were egg drop soup, Gourmet Green salad, and Mushroom and Tuna Pesto Pasta. The soup was a bit salty but still tolerable. On the other hand, the balsamic vinaigrette of the salad was one of the most delicious vinaigrettes I’ve ever tasted. For the pasta, it was my first time to try a pesto having mushroom and tuna as ingredients. Fresh tomatoes added to the pasta preserved the authentic taste of the Italian dish.

Very healthy dinner: pasta, soup and salad.

For breakfast, we tried their Crispy Bangus and Tapa with egg. The fried bangus was just okay but I do recommend the Tapa. The meat was marinated perfectly and was so tender. A cup of hot coffee is great for the meal and a freshly pureed apple-orange juice as a healthy addition.

Sinigang na Bangus Belly, Kare-Kare and Seafood Platter for lunch.

Before leaving the resort, a sumptuous lunch was served with a seafood platter and hefty bowls of Kare-Kare and Sinigang na Bangus Belly. The seafood platter includes a regular sized grilled tilapia, grilled-stuffed squid, liempo, veggies such as camote tops and okra and sliced mangoes. The soup of the sinigang will literally wake you up with the very strong sour taste of the tamarind. Highlight of the meal was the shrimp paste made absolutely for the Kare-kare.

This overnight weekend getaway was scheduled to be an endless night of watching horror movies which turned out to be a leisure and comfy stay at the resort. Why will you spend your day/night inside the rooms if there are great activities available that will surely make your weekend getaway more enjoyable and memorable? Loreland Farm Resort is definitely a place for a tranquil and deluxe weekend stay away from the busy streets of the metro.
