Zambales is known for its laidback surf towns, hidden coves, and the distinct charm of Liwliwa. This coastal community attracts travelers who wish to disconnect and rediscover slow living. Among the newest stays along its coastline is Luna and Sol Beach Resort in San Felipe. This beachfront resort captures the calm rhythm of Liwliwa while offering modern comfort and thoughtful hospitality.

Arrival
Our group arrived in Liwliwa later than expected due to a passing rain. We reached Luna and Sol Beach Resort past 7 PM, an hour after its usual 6 PM front office closing time. Thankfully, one of the staff waited for us. She welcomed us with cold towels and a refreshing drink. It was a small but comforting gesture after a long travel from Manila.

The check-in process ran smoothly and felt organized. After settling the security deposit, the staff shared the resort’s Guest Guide. It highlighted important reminders: the resort is smoke-free, quiet hours start at 10 PM, and the main gate closes at 11 PM. Guests who return late can enter through a side alley that connects to the resort via the beach.

That warm welcome immediately revealed the resort’s character—calm, considerate, and community-focused.
Room Types and Dwellings
Luna and Sol Beach Resort currently offers three room types. The Gypsea Hut (1–2 pax) is perfect for couples. The Beach Bungalow (1–5 pax) fits small groups. The Beach Bungalow Family (up to 6 pax) offers the most space for families or barkadas. Apart from the rooms, the resort also offers tent camping for guests who want a more outdoor experience. It’s a great option for those who wish to experience adventure while still enjoying the resort’s cozy atmosphere and beachfront setting.

We booked the Beach Bungalow Family and were delighted by its size. It could easily fit ten people, even though it’s listed for six. High ceilings, large windows, and bright interiors made the space feel welcoming.

The room has a queen bed on the main floor and a queen-sized loft bed. A cozy indoor sofa, modern ensuite bathroom, and walk-in heated shower complete the setup. Eco-luxe toiletries add a refined touch. Both an air-conditioning unit and a bladeless tower fan ensure even cooling throughout the room.

That night, we decided to stay in and relax. We enjoyed the comfort of our room as the rain poured outside, a perfect start to our Liwliwa reunion weekend.
Dining and Morning Rituals
One of Luna and Sol Beach Resort’s best touches is its free morning snack. Guests enjoy pandesal (and some spreads) with coffee or tea. This small gesture beautifully reflects the unhurried charm of mornings by the sea.

It’s best enjoyed by the beachfront lounge while watching Liwliwa Beach wake up to another day. The resort also provides free water refills at the bar. This practice supports its eco-friendly approach and reduces single-use plastics.

Groups who prefer cooking can rent the resort’s kitchen area. It comes with cookware, tableware, and a griller. Guests simply book the space in advance and enjoy meals in the communal dining area. The beach lounge also transforms into a beach bar during sundown. During its soft-opening, beers and few food are being offered, but the management mentioned that they will have a full-blown bar when the resort will be in its full swing.

Resort Activities and Facilities
Although Zambales offers many attractions, we decided to stay within the resort. Despite its intimate size, Luna and Sol Beach Resort offers fun in-house experiences.

A unique highlight is the “Luna and Sol Dare.” This challenge encourages guests to complete fun tasks during their stay. Those who finish the list receive a surprise gift during checkout. It’s a playful way to create lasting memories. The resort also assists in arranging tours and outdoor adventures across Zambales. Guests can request ATV rides, nature trails, or island-hopping excursions.

Public showers and toilets at Luna and Sol Beach Resort are spotless and well-maintained. These shared facilities are especially convenient for guests staying in Gypsea Huts without private bathrooms. They’re also helpful for larger groups in the bungalows, offering extra comfort and convenience instead of waiting to take turns using the private toilet and bath inside the rooms.
Luna and Sol’s Vision
The resort’s philosophy says it all: “Luna and Sol was created for those who seek both connection and escape; a place where love deepens, friendships flourish, and every moment lingers a little longer.”
True to its vision, our stay at Luna and Sol Beach Resort became more than just a weekend getaway. It turned into a long-awaited reunion. It was our first group trip since December 2019. Between laughter, stories, and quiet moments by the shore, the resort became a space for reconnection. It perfectly reflects the brand’s spirit of balance and togetherness.

Although Luna and Sol Beach Resort is still in its soft opening phase, it already shows great promise. Its morning pandesal ritual, eco-luxe amenities, and warm service show strong attention to detail. Some areas may still need improvement, which is natural for a new property. However, the management listens to guest feedback and continues to enhance the overall experience.

For now, the resort captures what travelers often seek in Liwliwa; tranquility, warmth, and authenticity. Our stay proved that this seaside retreat is one to watch.
