Palawan is proudly known as the country’s cashew capital, producing the largest supply of cashew in the Philippines. To celebrate this local treasure, Isla Casoy de Palawan opened in Puerto Princesa City to transform cashew into unique drinks, desserts, and pasalubong treats that visitors love to take home.

The restaurant is located in Mercado de San Miguel along Puerto Princesa North Road, making it an easy stop for both tourists and locals. Opened in December 2010, the place is owned and managed by the Saw Brothers and has since become one of the city’s most unique dining destinations. More than just a café, Isla Casoy highlights Palawan’s cashew heritage while supporting the province’s local farmers.
Inside the restaurant, the menu showcases how versatile cashew can be. Here you will find cashew coffee, frappes, cashew butter, cakes, cookies, tarts, nuts, and prunes. We ordered their Mocha Cashew Frappe, which tasted like a classic mocha drink but with a smooth cashew aftertaste that made it stand out. They also offer a 15% discount on their cake of the day, though we had to skip it since we had already eaten at Badjao Restaurant earlier that night.

Isla Casoy de Palawan Pasalubong Corner
Isla Casoy de Palawan is also known for its pasalubong corner. Their shelves are filled with different cashew nut flavors. You can choose from roasted, honey glazed, garlic, or spicy varieties. Each pack is neatly sealed and perfect for gifting. They also sell cookies, tarts, and prunes in various package sizes. For something more special, try their assorted box of cashew goodies. It costs only ₱250 and makes the perfect present for family and friends.
Among all the items we tried, the cashew butter was the star. Creamy, rich, and flavorful, it easily surpasses peanut butter in taste and texture. Many guests describe it as “heaven in a jar,” and it is easy to see why this product is a bestseller.

The restaurant opens early at 6 AM and continues serving guests until late at night. This makes it an excellent breakfast spot before your Puerto Princesa tours or a relaxing place to enjoy coffee and dessert after a long day of sightseeing.
