Puerto Princesa City is not only known for natural wonders but also for its vibrant nightlife. After a day of island tours and food adventures, experiencing the city’s night scene is a must. Among the most popular hangout spots is Tiki Resto Bar, a place where both locals and tourists gather for fun evenings filled with music, laughter, and good company.

That night, we had dinner at Balinsasayaw Chicken Grill and Restaurant. After finishing our meal, we decided to check out Tiki Resto Bar, which was conveniently located right beside it. The idea of joining the lively crowd seemed perfect, and we were excited to see what the night had to offer.
Tiki Resto Bar is found at the corner of Rizal Avenue and Puerto Princesa North Road. Its central location makes it easy to access by tricycle, the city’s most common mode of transport. Even before entering, you could already hear the music from live bands and the laughter of people enjoying stand-up comedy. The atmosphere outside hinted at the energy waiting inside.

Once we settled in, we noticed the place had a mixed crowd. Locals, backpackers, and even families were there, all enjoying the night together. Tiki Resto Bar is famous for its lineup of entertainers, including bands like Freeplay and Moranos. They know how to keep the crowd engaged with lively music and comedic skits. It was refreshing to see everyone smiling, clapping, and even singing along with the performers.
We shared drinks and talked about how Puerto Princesa has something for every traveler. The city is often associated with the Underground River, Honda Bay Islands, and pristine beaches. Yet, places like Tiki Resto Bar prove that Puerto Princesa also has a fun nightlife scene worth exploring.

Our group also had a curious discussion about the name “Tiki”. Eli, one of my companions, teased that the restrooms would give us the answer. Intrigued, I went to check them out myself. Sure enough, the restroom labels explained everything in a humorous way. The staff labeled the men’s restroom “Titi” and marked the women’s restroom “Kiki.” It was a playful, cheeky detail that gave the resto-bar its unique identity. When I returned to the table, we all had a good laugh over it.
Another thing we noticed was the reminder on the menu regarding tips. In most tourist destinations across the Philippines, it is customary to tip servers and guides. However, at Tiki Resto Bar, management politely discourages tipping. Instead, they want guests to simply enjoy their time without worrying about added expenses. It was a refreshing take on hospitality that made us appreciate the service even more.

The food and drinks at Tiki Resto Bar were fairly priced. While it is not a fine dining spot, it offers a casual vibe perfect for unwinding. The real highlight, however, is the atmosphere. The live performances, combined with the cheerful crowd, create a memorable experience that adds color to any Puerto Princesa trip.

As our last night in Palawan came to an end, we were glad to have stopped by. What began as an unplanned visit turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. Tiki Resto Bar gave us a glimpse of Puerto Princesa’s lighter, more playful side.
If you ever find yourself in Puerto Princesa, make sure to include Tiki Resto Bar in your itinerary. It is the perfect place to relax, laugh, and celebrate the beauty of Palawan beyond its beaches and islands. For us, it was the ideal way to end our trip before returning to the busy streets of Metro Manila.
