BENGUET | Café de Angelo’s Sirloin Steak Sandwich


Away from the bustling and crowded streets of Baguio City is another diner that is now on my list of must-places everytime I’m in the summer capital. Café de Angelo, not just the food, has a light and refreshing atmosphere that adds up to the climate of the area.

Yes, it’s a bit far from the city center but you can appreciate the quietness and delightfully landscaped surroundings. The café opened last March 2013 and was named after the son of the owner. It is situated in the garden of their home where you can find blossoming flowers.

They offer light and healthy snacks and what’s nice here is that they have limited the items on their menu that makes it easier for customers to choose what to order. They have starters, sandwiches, salads, and desserts that can go perfectly with their coffees like Arabica, Americano, barako, civet, espresso shots, macchiato, mocha, lattes, and teas.

The sandwiches and burgers are garden-inspired with lots of greens added. I sampled their bestseller Sirloin Steak Sandwich that was served generously with rice crisps on top. They are using wheat-bread for the sandwich that decked the layers of alfalfa sprouts, lettuce and the tender and juicy sirloin steak.

The serving of the double-decker sandwich was hefty for one, but I had devoured it because of the tasty meat. For me, there is no need to add a dressing for the sandwich because the juice of the steak already intensifies the flavors.

Café de Angelo can accommodate up to a maximum of 24 persons: 12 inside the cottage and the rest on their outdoor dining area.
